Easy Ways to Organize Your Home

I'd like to welcome Anna Hicks, who has written an article, especially for DIYbyDesign.

Keeping your home organized can be a real challenge. Maintaining a household is a full time job, so keeping it organized is essential. By following a few simple tips,
you can make home organization a breeze.

 Kitchen

Cleaning the kitchen is one of the most dreaded chores for most people. Make kitchen clean up easier by creating a system for cleaning your kitchen. To cut back on dish disasters, line your pans with aluminum foil before cooking. Cook with your dishwasher open, adding in dirty dishes as you go along. This will save time for your after-dinner cleanup. Let utensils like forks, spoons and knives soak in hot water before washing them by hand or adding them to the dishwasher. When loading your dishwasher, place all of the forks, spoons and knives in their own separate dishwasher baskets. When they are dried, putting them away will be a snap.  Kids Rooms and Playrooms

Kids enjoy being helpful. Let them take part in your organization efforts by giving the their own set of chores that will make them feel needed. Young children can put away toys, pick up clothes and hang their coats. Older children can make beds, sweep floors and vacuum carpets. Buy color coded bins to store their kid essentials like shoes, crayons, small toys and puzzle pieces. Create a song that encourages your children to clean and be organized. Kids love bright colors, so make your organization tools colorful. Award prizes for a job well done or simply give them verbal praise for
 being super cleaners.

 Living Rooms and Dens

Living rooms and dens can easily get out of hand if you don't take proper steps to organize them. Unopened mail, toys, wayward shoes and jackets can clutter your living room space, making you entire home appear disorganized. Use bins and folders to sort mail. Get shoe racks that are great for front hallways and foyers and will help to keep your floors free from dirt and mud. Create a space where family members can toss their keys, purses, coats and bags. This will keep your living rooms and dens free from excess clutter and junk.  Remember your floors are a valuable asset in your home.  Keep them safe by taking protective measures like Prosource wholesale floor coveringswill ensure that your home value remains high even after years of use and (possibly) abuse.

 Carpets

Keeping carpets clean is a challenge in most homes. High traffic areas such as living rooms, dining rooms and children's rooms are especially hard to handle. Steam clean your carpets several times a year to avoid set in stains. Vacuum the carpeting on a regular basis to get rid of crumbs and excess debris. Teens can vacuum carpets as a part of their daily chores, freeing you to tackle other tasks. Encourage young children to wipe their feet before entering the house to avoid mud tracking. Encourage pets remain away from areas with light or plush carpeting. Keeping carpet clean is key to home organization If you want to organize your home, getting a handle on clutter is the first step. By creating a system that will tackle clutter and junk, you will be well on your way to a neat and tidy home.

Thanks Anna.
